After months of writing and recording in late 2004 and early 2005, Trey began auditioning musicians for his new project, dubbed "70 Volt Parade." Comprised of one old friend among a cast of new collaborators, the band consisted of Ray Paczkowski (organ, keyboards), Les Hall (guitar, keyboards), Peter Chwazik (bass) and Skeeto Valdez (drums). The quintet embarked on a short spring tour, featuring notable stops at the New Orleans Jazz Festival (which saw Trey join the Neville Brothers during their festival-closing set) and a sold-out two-night stand at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom. The tour debuted a cache of new songs, some which later would be featured on "Shine," including "Love That Breaks All Lines," "Black," and "Come As Melody."
