Further exploring the layering of instruments over a groove foundation, Trey added brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, Tenor Saxophonist/flutist Russell Remington (of Giant Country Horns fame) and Baritone Saxophonist Peter Apfelbaum for the summer tour of 2002. Now a ten-piece band, they began exploring more complex arrangements and changes, often pushing songs like Mr. Completely and Night Speaks To A Woman past the twenty-minute mark. After a successful tour that culminated at the first annual Bonnaroo Music Festival, the dectet hit the road again in the fall, touring small arenas up and down the east coast. 2003 brought a short spring tour of theatres across the country, punctuated by Carlos Santana's guest appearance at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco and closing with two sold out shows at Memorial Auditiorium for Burlington's Discover Jazz Festival. After a busy year of touring with Phish, Trey released his first orchestral album, 'Seis De Mayo' in April of 2004. Featuring new material and some re-arranged Phish originals such as 'All Things Considered'(performed by a string quartet) and 'Guyute' (performed by the 66-piece SeattleMusic Orchestra) That summer Trey made his second appearance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, with a special first set conducting the Nashville Chamber Orchestra through much of the 'Seis De Mayo' material before bringing out the dectet for an electric second set.
